It's just as sparkly as the picture and more. The charm is tiny and probably would look best on a smaller person's neck, and lucky for us the receiver has a small neck and the length is perfect. The charm is well made and smooth. We had hoped to engrave a single digit on the back or front of the scroll section and even though it's tiny the reason that wouldn't work is because the backside even has detail on the scroll! So, it can't be engraved (on the front or back, but we found a 2nd sterling silver charm with the numbers we wanted and I hope that it will look good as a 2nd charm on the same necklace. The jump ring (the "circle" piece that allows the charm to hang straight down) is also very smooth and well made. It doesn't have a lobster claw clasp so it could be annoying to take off and on as this traditional clasp is tiny too, but I'd say it's a standard size.She loved it.
